There are 3 levels of listing: Grade I, II* & II. The majority of buildings which are of special interest are Grade II. A much smaller number of particularly important buildings are listed as Grade II*. Buildings of exceptional interest (approx 2% of the total number of listed buildings) are Grade I.

A church was built on this site in 1853-4 by John Norton, however, in 1898-9 is was replaced by C B Fowler of Cardiff. The nave and lean-to aisle came first with the chancel added in 1905-6.

A church of six-bays, chancel, nave and lean-to aisle constructed with snecked, rock-faced Pennant sandstone with Bath stone dressings. The chancel is as high as the nave and only the sanctuary is free of the aisles.

The church has a high and wide nave with wide aisles. A canted, boarded roof runs through the church. The octagonal stone pulpit has the symbols of the evangelists under arcading. Created by J Coater carter is the rood screen and rood of 1921. The stained glass: ‘The Transfiguration’, Michael and Arthur O’Connor, 1854; ‘The Ascension’, Mayer & Co, c1891; ‘Virgin and Child Between St Anne and St Elizabeth,’, Bristow Wadley & Co. Ltd. 1940.
