Summary Description

Blaengwrach is in the upper reaches of the Nedd on its east bank. A branch of the neath canal built in 1817 enabled its coal to be conveyed down the valley. The Venallt ironworks functioned here between 1839 and 1854. Reference The Encyclopaedia of Wales
