Summary Description

Cilycwm enjoys a position in the hills north of Llandovery, which include parts of the Llyn Brianne Reservoir and the Dinas RSPB Reserve south of the dam. The community area is long and thin, the bridge at its southern end Pont Dolauhiron was designed by William Edwards being a ‘copy’ of his bridge in Pontypridd. According to information displayed in the Rhandirmwyn Post office and café Twm Sion Catti was busy in this area. The hymn writer Morgan Rhys was a native of the area.
