Summary Description

Llay is a C20 mining village formally laid out to designs by Barry Parker. The Llay mining company sank their shaft in 1914, the pit closed in 1966. The Llay Hall colliery opened in 1873 and was closed in 1947. Reference Buildings of Wales – Clwyd 2003
