Summary Description

New Quay was established in 1793 to provide berths for 15 sailing ships, from this the town grew especially after the railway connection to Buckley was established in 1861. As a port it was able to export earthen ware, bricks and coal. It was also a centre for ship building. The Flint Bridge opened in 1998 providing a downstream crossing point below the Queensferry Bridge. The church is at the end of church Street where the road becomes Church Hill.
